How to play Batomon Showdown
Patch 1.2.0 / Balance 24. Facts below are tied to a source checked on 2026-10-01. Anything still open is marked unconfirmed.
One run, in the order the game actually uses
You pick a trainer. The 1.0 site copy still says “17 trainer classes, each bending the rules.” Patch 1.2.0 added Smuggler after that, so the live roster is larger than 17. See the trainers page before you treat 17 as current.
The shop is the decision phase: draft, freeze, reroll, merge. There is no countdown. Income is a keyword with a tooltip; hovering the shop gold shows the day’s income, added in the 1.0.0 notes.
Battle is automatic and asynchronous. You are not in a live lobby with a friend on a clock. The opponent is a saved board.
Tools the 1.0.0 patch put in the client
The in-game notes for 1.0.0 say the tutorial was overhauled, Run History was added on the main menu (who you fought, how long it took, what each Batomon did), and a right-click inspect sheet shows stats, ability text, and the evolution chain. A patch-notes screen lives in the client, which is why this site’s patch page cites those notes instead of guessing.
Lives, wins, and the early shop
The community beginner guide says normal runs start with 10 lives and end at 10 wins or after the life pool is depleted following one Second Chance. Losses cost 1 life on days 1–2, 2 on days 3–4, and 3 from day 5. The first depletion restores 1 life and opens a reward event; the next depletion ends the run. These are community-documented rules checked 2026-10-01.
Field up to six Batomon. A normal shop has five slots, generally four creatures and one eligible item while an item use remains. Rerolls cost 3 gold unless a free reroll is available. Three level-1 copies make level 2; two level-2 copies make level 3. Reposition and read target conditions before choosing Battle.

Questions on this page
Is it multiplayer?
It is asynchronous PvP. You fight saved teams from other players. If matchmaking cannot find a suitable human snapshot, it uses a preset bot board and wider fallback rules.
Do I aim the attacks?
No. The official line is that the battle plays itself. Your decisions are the shop, the board, the trainer, and the items.
